If I could only find one for sale with all the attachments . 8)
unimog film (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=277442623646981589&q=unimog)
That was cool !!! I only watched about 8 minutes of the 23 minute film.
Didn't know they made articulated Unimogs !
They sure had a big variety of skidding plates and one even had a grapple/arch.
I've always wanted one but they cost too much. Guess I'll just keep fixing up historical Canadian logging equipment :D
When I was in Germany a few years ago I saw these neat things being used to farm some very steep land. I have seen a couple of older Unimog's around here but the price tag on them was more than I could handle.
I still would like one.

I got a kick out of the articulated ones too. We see them occasionally, the farmers and small logging operations like them.
I really like the parbuckle set up they had in the video. 8) I have always wanted one too, they are not cheap, but I have seen some very clean 406's and 416's that were in my price range, but then I think the front loader, crane, cable skidder, and log trailer would put me way over budget. :D I do think that a highway legal vehicle with all these capabilities is the way to go for a small operation such as mine, but I think the hardest thing, is to find one that was put together the way I would want it. Basically they were all configured different depending on the application. Some have front and rear pto's , front and rear hydraulics, and front and rear 3 pt hitches, but others have none of these options. :-\ You really need to know what to look for when shopping for one, and I am no unimog expert. ::) I guess I could start with a new one, but then again if I had that type of money I would not need to work anyway. :D Maybe I should go to Germany. ??? :-\ :) One thing this video did for me was give me lots of ideas. :D
When I was in Germany a few years ago I saw one with a backhoe mounted on the corner of the bed. It was a real cool setup. I've always wanted one. There was one for sell on ebay about 20 miles from here last year. I went into a deep funk as I watched the price go up and up. I realized i wold never be able to afford one.
The MB4/94 series that were made for Case, usually had a backhoe and a FEL. 8)
