one shot with a 223. she did a great job. she wanted to even help clean it. my dad usually runs away when it comes to the cleaning part. i am very proud of her. she is hooked for life. she is 9 years old.

she was a big one. as far weight we never weigh em ill know how much meat i got off her tho. i took and had her made in to hamburger meat. well deerburger, we was going to go buy a grinder. but for 55 cents a pound we had it done. i figured for my time and money it was worth it.

it was youth season. its usually 2 weekends ahead of regular season.. road hunters will definately be in full force also here.
i used my brother in laws buddy stand. now i am going to have to invest in those stands. but its worth it.
thanks guys

Congradulations

My daughter got her first deer a couple of weeks before we moved to Missouri a few years ago. That was back in Kansas.

I took my son out this past week end. We did not get one. I am still learning how to hunt these deer in Missouri are large forestry lands. We did not get one this weekend. I will scout and try again during regular rifle season. My wife is also planning on hunting this year during rifle season with me for her first hunt.

I have made progress as far as hunting with my son. We have come close a couple of times but what I really like is he told me on the way out Sunday night he enjoyed going out and also walking even though we did not get one. He also wants to go out and scout with me. I am looking forward to scouting togather some more next weekend.

I do wish I could take him back to Kansas to get a deer. I have some good spots back there. I have access to alot of farm ground and before I moved had turned down land to hunt. I also miss the quail and pheasant hunting.

That's real cool, nothing like that 1st one. My 5 yr old daugther wants to go so bad. I've taken her out scouting around our farm and about once a week we practice being still and quiet for a little while. Our biggest problem is we both would rather look for arrowheads instead of deer tracks, but that's ok too. Concrats and good luck next time.
