Title: Truss construction
Post by: Nate Surveyor on November 08, 2007, 11:13:11 PM
Well, I have not been milling for a while.

Well, I am back at it now.

I have a bunch of wood cut now, and need to build trusses. I have designed simple trusses, and cut them out, and built them. But, it takes me a while.

But there should be some sort of web site that will allow you to plug in the numbers, and it will return all the angles and distances to cut it out.

Does anybody know of any such thing?

Thanks,

Nate

Thanks Mr. Conley.

This will be helpful later. Right now, I am trying to make some smaller trusses, spanning 8', with all open space under, (no framing in the A part), and Then some larger ones like this. You wind up with an upper and a lower beam in it. I doubt I am using the correct terminology.

Essentially, I am doing a trial run with an 8' span, and then want to go bigger, with an OPEN space under the A of the truss.
Sort of like this:
