Good morning guys.Old sawyer but first time on your forum.I'am in my early 60's been involved with mills for half that.First mill I built was circular all steel and portable, 44" headsaw powered with my outher love steam.Boiler was an ABFarquar with an 8.5x11 ajax steam engine 48" flywheel.I soon tired of getting up in the middle of the night to keep the boiler warm in cold weather and put a cat d318 power unit on it.Mill I have now is a band mill of my own manufacture with hydraulics and log turner.Band mills work fine but I'am getting the itch for big iron and looking at an old Chase circular that needs much work 52" headsaw 6cyl. Dagenham diesel power unit.I work as a fire dept. mechanic 4 days and fridays work sawyer on a woodmiser LT70 with all the bells and whistles 3phase elect.real spoiler.I'am still learning this seems like a good place.
