A friend of mine came by the other day and told me of a ????? Buss 36" planer that is to be put on sale. It belonged to a school as I understand it. I have a photo but it is not good enough to reprint. I think this planer will go cheap as it is three phase. If anyone is interested, let me know. If anyone knows about this machine and has an interest I would be willing to work with them to obtain it. My friend is a school board member. He promised he'd go and get a model number.
Could be in the "L" series. They are the older ones, pre-.......1950's. I have a 42" L-4
I think the newer ones (it's all relative) where different "B" or something like that. They are all fairly sizeable.

Is it big enough to sleep under? I would love to have something like that but don't think it would go over too well with the boss.
I'd love to have it, but it's a bit large to ship UPS :'(
I know where there is a 32" planer, it's bolted to a piece of 3/4" plate that is 8'x8'. :o I am guessing a four ton package. (Can be had for scrap price!!)

At the price of scrap these days an 8' x8' x 3/4" plate would make it high dollar.
The few school auctions I have been at have had similar results. Everything goes dirt cheap till they come to the planers. :o
i agree with everything said, but man would that not be sweet. that would be the ultimate planer.
