I made this to go with some pork chops and mashed red potatoes that Celest and I had for dinner the other night. Mom used to make it a lot. It's real simple
4 apples
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
A couple shakes of cinnamon
Sugar if necessary
Peal, core and slice apples. Put in a sauce pan on medium heat, add all the ingredients cover and stir occasionally. I cooked it for 20 minutes so the apples were pretty mushy but still kind of chunky. That's how mom made it and that's how I like it. I used Fuji apples because that's what I had. Three words Tasty, tasty, tasty!
Now ya got me going. :D Home made applesauce is just THE best hot over ice cream or with pork roast. I like it chunky too, mom made it from McIntosh apples. DanG, it was good.
