My daughter was telling about a website that shows all the fires in the US of 100 acres or more. By pointing your cursor on a fire you get the details about it.
She doesn't remember the website. Is anyone familiar with it?
Thanks,
Noble
This address http://www.nifc.gov/firemaps.html lists several mapping projects. I looked at 'geomap but it doesn't look like the one you describe. Perhaps you can find it in this list.
http://firemapper.sc.egov.usda.gov/modisrr/lg_fire2.php This looks more like it but the only fires are Mi and the UP. I don't see where this is a regional map but maybe I'm not reading something.
Noble it is a U. S. forest Service web site we got it at work . If you do not find it I can get it for you monday it has a list of all state and fed. fires burning in the U.S. if it is a big fire it will have its on web site ;D
Thanks,
Tom, the second one you listed is the one she had seen before. She put it on my favorites.
RMay,
If you have an additional map, I'd be interested in looking at the website also.
Thanks,
Noble
Noble,
Any Information on the current fire situation can be fiound on the National Interagency Fire Center site http://www.nifc.gov
It's posted under the Forum links also
I suspect that your daughter's boy friend in on the South Townline Fire in Minnesota or the Sand Creek Fire near the Minnesota/Wisconsin border if he's on a fire crew up this way.
