Title: Chainsaw mill remote throttle
Post by: Danny_S on May 05, 2003, 07:19:08 PM
Does anyone have a chainsaw mill with an remote throttle? I am temporarily mounting my chainsaw to my mill head to resaw slabs for camp siding. I need to hook up an remote throttle and was wondering how other machines are hooked up. I have an idea or two, but if I seen an simpler way I would go with it.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, so if you have one I would like to see it. Thanks  Buck

Go and buy your self one of those lawn mower REV levers (they are only about $10 bucks 8)) the ones with the turtle and the rabbit, get the one with the solid rod insert. Drill a tiny little hole in your chainsaw REV switch just big enough to slide the solid insert through it. The hole needs to be at the very further point on the switch.

Bend the very end of the rod 90 degrees and about 25mm long and slide it through the hole. Once it's through bend about 5mm in the opposite direction so it can't slide out of the hole. Then just cable tie the chord as solid as you can so it cant slide. Mount the controler where ever you need. Walla, Infinite control of your throttle.
