16 pines..8 of which were over 100ft tall...guy had a tree service take them down and they said they'd be out within two weeks to get them..no show for a month, and no call returns...guy was pretty fed up with having a couple thousand bdft of primo pine in his way..enter >me< stage left...been hauling logs all day..I'm just a bit tired.
jeez, but my barns are gonna be pretty later this year. ;D i'm thinkin random width board and batten...
Allright!!!
Now when you get rested up enough for some camera action....we like da pics. ;D
Zopi,
Sounds like some nice pine trees. I was wondering how do you haul your logs?
Don
Now you've done it! Everyone in the neighborhood is going to know about your log addiction. :D Good score!

It's an elaborate scheme that sometimes works.. :D i have a 16' flatbed trailer, and my truck has a 16.5k Warn winch..and i have a hitch on the front bumper...hook the trailer to the front of the truck an ooch upto the log..insert ramps and pull..
i'm trying to do away with the ramps...i bought a truck crane the other day and intend to mount it on the back of my trailer..the Idea is to lift the front end of the log over the edge of the trailer whilst i winch the log onto the trailer...
working on building a log arch too..
and failing all that..the truck is a 4wd turbo diesel tha makes about 400 hp...can always just snatch it down the road...good way to vent steam anyway... :D

nahh..too late for that, I've already scored 10 or 15 tons of cypress and hauled it in here...and they all get to listen to the mill running at 9:00 pm...I love living in the sticks...
i bet it's not more than two months before i get hit up for fence lumber...
How are you set for lumber drying sheds?
Not nearly well enough...the stuff that absolutely has to be inside at this point is..and i still have a bit of room left..the important stuff is the lumber milled for wifeys floors...
i have a bunch of barn lumber under cover, but outside..I put some spacers on top and tarp, then weight...thing is, here, it seems if i put pine inside to dry, at least initially, it will mold in a few days..if I sticker it outside and cover the top, it doesn't.
i have a kiln...in kit form... :D
there is one more building out there i could use, but it is almost a useless structure...i am thinking of rebuilding it from timbers, and putting a peak roof on it...
plus I gotta build a sawshed this summer.
