I wanted to bring this thread to the top to let you all know again about Inspector's course coming up on the 14th. You are all welcome, we have plenty of room to put you up if you need it, and we are looking forward to meeting you. :)
I think Electric Al may even be coming to give a short class on kiln drying (if we can get him out of the excavator long enough) ;D. It should be an interesting day.
Patty, did you get the Forestry Forum Newsletter? Are you subscribed?
Hey Jeff-
Yes I subscribed last month, but I didn't get one :'(. Did I subscribe wrong or something?
Patty
PS. However, I have read the past letters...just hadn't gotten around to reading #10. Great work, by the way. ;)
Whoo Hoo ;D I'm getting excited ;D Can't wait to meet you guys and have some fun.
Hopefully dear ol' dad dont' have me too wore out from bucking logs by next week :D

Patty
I wish I could go, too :'(
I wish you could make it too ohsoloco, I brought in some white oak logs for Al to show us how to saw with. I thought with all this free help I'd make the most of it. ;D

Norm, that's a nice jag of wood ya got there :) If it wasn't such a drive from PA I'd be there. If only I had next Friday off....hmmmm, I do have a personal day I could use at work ;)
I wish that whole truck load was for me but I was only getting a couple of Mbf from him. They had some real nice butt logs on there but they wanted too much money for em and I would have had to split them with a chainsaw first.
WOW Norm thats some good looking logs, Now I am
going to have some sleeples nights till the 14. I will bring
my gloves and head set so i can help out. Just love to
be out doing this kind of work.
Sawwood
I received my Hat and Shirt to day so i am all set.
Inspectorwoody do you have a list of what we will
be doing Saterday?
Sawwood
Ya'll learn a lot and come back and teach me sumpthin. :)
Hey, is Weekend Sawyer going to make the drive out there?
Weekend sawyer won't be able to make it due to his bossman
George Dubbya?
One of the neat things about the FF is I get to talk with people all over the USA and world and learn about things like long lining and Vegamite, but it's too bad we all live so far apart. Makes getting together harder for things like this weekend.
I'll call George W, (Patty knows him personally just ask her) ;D and see if he can't bring weekend sawyer over on Air Force 1.
Tell him to stop and pick me up on the way ;) I would really like to go, but that 1800 mile round trip doesn't sound that great :-/
well if hes picking those guys up he might as well stop here. I can't go but I can give you all a plate of food. We are roasting a pig for Stacy's graduation open house.
I smell bacon, I smell pork, watch out piggy I got a fork ;D :D
Sawwood
Well, we will meet and greet and bs for a bit and than when ya'll want to hit the books we will start talking about inspection, grade out some lumber, discuss any questions etc. and hopefully get a good start on things by the time Al gets up there and than we can go into sawing and kiln drying with him.
Sound good?

Any final requests??
Inspector
I am trying to arange to be there Saturday. What time are you starting and will you be at the house or in town at the building?
Steve
Sounds good to me Inspector. I hope to be there by
8:30.
Sawwood
We're going to start at 11:00AM over at the office, you really can't call Bangor a town as there is only 5 or 6 houses there. As my dad used to say don't blink or you'll miss it and drive right by. :D
If you get here early come over to the house but let me warn you if you get here too early you may get the chance to see me in my underwear, :o not a pretty sight I guarantee ya.
Norm_F is there a place close that a guy can git Breffast,
Ham,Eggs ? O and Coffee. The 307 3rd st is that you
office or house. Just comb your hair and you will look
fine.
Sawwood
Your best bet would be to stop in Ames on I-35, there really isn't anyplace close to us that does breakfasts.
307 3rd st. is where my office is at, if you get in early stop by our house, the address there is 1766 126th St. Union, IA.
Use maps on yahoo and it does a good job of showing where our house is. Don't use it to find 307 as it will show it in the town of Union.
Patty told me to not worry about combing my hair as I don't have enough to comb. :D
Anybody gets lost I'll have my cell phone with me its 641-485-7248
