Good friend of mine swung by to look at the mill, and since I just happen to be sawing long 6x6s I put him to work..I'm a *DanG opportunist...He watched me scale and saw the first log, didn't want to saw because he didn't want to screw it up...ok,
loaded the next one and took a union break..."ok, this one is yours..get busy!" He sawed it pretty much without a hitch,
even got a better grade timber than I thought we'd get out of that log...it was gonna be a gin pole, but it is so clear and pretty
that I am going to put it in the front of the shed...three tight little knots in one 16' 6x... ;D i love this job.
I doubt he will be buying a mill..but he will definetly be back to play.
He had good things to say about my favorite Logrite hook too...
Many hand and good tools often make the job go easier. ;)
Yup..specially if one of them is a 280 lb biker/equipment mechanic.
You must be cutting smal stuff, that's just a little guy. :D
Dav
heck, i'm a little guy..6ft 140ish...he couldn't believe I was loading 3000 lb logs on the mill by myself...
Having a portable sawmill is kinda like Tom Sawyer and painting a fence. In stead of letting them just stand around and gawk, let em know "if'n they got somethin' to trade, you'll let them off load and stack." :D :D :D
Aint Polly is might particular about that fence...
