Post by: Corley5 on September 09, 2008, 10:02:00 PM
What's the difference between the C4D and C5D Tree Farmer machines  ???  I've never seen them side by side and from pics they look pretty much the same  :-\

Hey Corley5 , I always thought the difference was in options. The C4D had ford and duetz while the C5D had detroits about a 6 hp increase.  The C4D had the gearmatic 9 while the C5D had the Cancar 20 with alot more pull. Stephen

I looked at a C4 once that had a detroit in it. I think the c5 is just a little bit bigger

Hi Guys. Pretty well all the C5 porters around here have Deutz engines in them. I think the Difference is probably in the housings. C5 might have a bit more power buts it's probably built a lot heavier  ??? . Just my thoughts

Back in '78, our C4 porter came with a 4 cyl. Deutz and 18.4x26 tires while our neighbor's C5 had a 5 cyl. Deutz, heavier rear ends, and 23.1x26 tires.
