Title: bush hogging blue berry feilds

My neighbor wants their fields bushhogged,which contain a lot of blue berries,Will We still get berries next year?  thanks

Blueberries are perennials, so they should come back.

Ours came back real strong and thicker than ever after bush hogging.  I don't know if it will go in cycles but there was a bumper crop this year.  Won't bush hog that area anymore unless I really need to.

I don't think there will be fruit for a couple years, but they will sucker to beat all.

Our wild blueberry plants turn orange red up here in fall. :)

Seems like if you bush hog the bushes down to the ground,there will be no berries next year.Takes a year for the bushes to grow than the fruit comes.Call up the County Cooperative Extension.I live in Franklin County,so I looked in the phone book under Franklin County Cooperative Extension.They will know for sure.They will have some print outs too.All this was free at one time.I think they charge 25ยข per page now.The wife like to run the mower through ours.That really does a job on them.But have to do something,the bushes are really starting to take over.
