Title: Christmas contest #5 another whazit.
Post by: Jeff on December 17, 2008, 10:26:08 PM
What is this object?  I'm not talking about the nickle for scale or the holly leaf decoration added to make it look Christmasey.  :)

Winner drawn from correct guesses, or if there are no correct guesses, winner drawn from all the entries.  Contest ends Midnight Forum time Friday.  Prize is another Forestry Forum Jelly pack.

This could be a real set of clues to the detective in you guys.

I personally acquired this almost, but not quite, two years ago. It was hiding behind my computer monitor for most of that time since I discovered it last month. It took me a day to remember what it was. :)

We have a winner!   I didn't even have to resort to more clues.  LeeB  was correct with his guess of a Kumquat.

I picked that fresh Kumquat to try 2 years ago this last February, the day before I left for home after visiting Tom.  I took it out of my Suitcase and placed it by my computer, and some how, it never rotted, it just shriveled up and became completely dehydrated. I have lots of little mementos around my desk so things are easily over looked for long periods. When I clean up, I just scoop it all to one side, dust, then scoop it to the other side. :D

I've been debating on whether to drop it in a glass of water to see what it will do. ;D

Anyhow, LeeB, send my your address and now its time for contest #6.  :)
