Title: 2009 Forestry Forum Pig Roast
Post by: Jeff on January 12, 2009, 11:11:31 AM
I've just restarted our countdown in the column to the left for this year's annual Forestry Forum Pig Roast. I'm hoping that gas prices stay down, and circumstances allow, so even more of our friends can attend this year. This year's date is as always, the first Saturday in August, August 1, 2009, but it will be a bit special for Tammy and I as that is also the day of our 29th wedding anniversary.

I'm hoping you will all mark your calendars and try to be here with us again this coming year.  :)

You can click here to go to Wildflower's profile to get the location of the Pig Roast (https://forestryforum.com/board/index.php?action=profile;u=9)

Out of curiosity, why does clicking on the Pig Roast Counter Downer lead to a law firm  ???

From last year's posts I got the impression that everyone was getting along just fine  ???

My guess would be that the Sponsor just above the counter is a law firm.  Probably a tag is misplaced in the display of the counter, making it a part of the hypertext of the sponsor.  I doubt that it is intentional or means anything ominous.

Got it on the calendar. Maybe I can actually make it this year.

Jeff, you and Tammy must of married REAL young to have 29 in already. ;)

The count down shouldn't be clickable.  I didnt find a tag in there out of place, but I put another paragraph divide in there to hopefully break any link that inadvertently carried over from above.

Oakimac, Tammy was 18 and I was 19.  :)

That's great for the both of you!  Isn't  the 29th anniversary when a gift of WOOD is appropriate? ;)

Rosanna and I hope to come this year again!

It's still showing up as clickable on this browser (IE6.0.???), but it's a government computer so who knows what it's doing.  ;)

Dodgy probably offered to marry his daughter and hoping she gets it as a dowry.  ;)

  This is  Dodgy Loner's offer
QuoteCan't believe I'm not there to bid on Pigman's farm .  I got's a whole $100 saved up that I would offer him

Another forester is dating my youngest, maybe that is his goal. He sure is going to be disappointed when he finds out the wife and I plan to sell the farm and spend the money. :D

Drat!  You've exposed my scheme.  Guess I'll have to rescind my offer to marry his daughter, seeing as how the farm don't come with her.  Besides, I would probably have to give pigman a farm for permission to marry a daughter of his ;D

This is beginning to remind me of the woman that complained to the police about the man who was exposing himself in the window of the apartment across the alley.

She took the police to her bathroom and pointed at a small window above the tub.

The policeman said, "lady, how do you see anything way up there?

She said, "well, you gotta get the little stool and put it on the top of the ladder and then put your foot on that hot water handle and lean way over  to the right and you can see the son-of-a-gun."

Glad you fixed the counter link.  I don't need a lawyer, but if I come to the Pig Roast this year I might need one.    I've already planned a ham radio show in Dayton in May and then Sawlex 2 weeks later.  That will be the extent of my travels this summer.

This year is our 30th anniversary and I need to save my days off and money for the trip we're going on.   ;).  Went to Australia on our 20th and England for our 25th.  I don't think she will settle for Harrison MI for the 30th.   ::)    She wants to go on a cruise.   I had enough cruises with the Navy and want nothing to do with them.  Maybe we'll fly to a tropical location and just hang out.   I've got till the 1st week of November to pull something out of my take her someplace really nice.

I hear that you eat on the cruises almost as good as we did on the destroyer.   You might reconsider.  A trip into carribean with lobster and steak and roasts and fresh green salads and hot dogs and Kool Ade couldn't be all that bad. They might even have all the milk you wanna drink too.  :D :D

My inlaws, from Indiana, came to stay with us over Christmas this past year, and my mother-in-law was heard to say to my wife:

"If you don't come out to visit us, we're not going to come out here to visit you anymore".

So I have a choice - head out to the midwest over the summer and risk the chance of my in-laws visiting again, or NOT go out there and hope she sticks to her word.  :D :D :D :D

We were gonna spend a day or two with them and then head to the pigroast this year, but it looks like we might just head straight to Michigan and enjoy some stress-free vacation time....  :D

Anybody that had a camp spot last year is auto-reserved for this year. If you were here camping last  year and don't plan on coming this year, I'll need to know that so we can get someone else in need a spot. :)
