Title: Ice Storm Damage
Post by: roscoe234 on March 14, 2009, 12:51:28 PM
Have 2 large pines that were heavily damaged in the recent ice storm here in NW AR.  They are approximately 3' diam and 70' tall.  The trunks are very  straight.

Im trying to decide whether i should drop the entire tree or trim and top.

I dont want them unless there's a chance they'll rejuvinate themselves.

I'm also curious if a sawmill (there's one near) would have any interest in the trees for lumber as opposed to sending them to the burn pile.

Thoughts from those who know will be most appreciated.

Pictures can be furnished if necessary.
