Just curious what if anything comes with the saw other then a manual and scrench.
That would be up to the dealer, I think.
Should have bar and chain. :)
Might have a carrying case and/or blade guard thrown in.
Might have an extra chain, some oil, and some wedges thrown in.
Maybe a round file, a flat file and sharpening jigs.
But think all these are dealer options, not expectations from Stihl.
Usually selling the saw and then being able to hopefully sell you the additions would make the dealer happy (and stay in business longer :))
As sold by Stihl, and before anything is added by the dealer, a chainsaw comes with the powerhead, one bar, one chain, one scrench (bar wrench and screwdriver all in one), an owners manual, and sometimes a screwdriver for the carb. (although the carb screwdriver is likely pretty rare these in days of fixed jets and compensating carbs).
Depending on what promotions Stihl is offering and how generous your dealer is, you may get any or all of a case, chain, baseball cap, file, file handle, oil for mixing with the fuel.
If Stihl is offering their double warranty, you may want to buy the six-pack of two-cycle oil. You'll need it anyway, and a free year of warranty never hurts.
cheers
John (retired dealer)
It depends on which type of Stihl saw you buy.
With a non-professional model a chain, guidebar, guidebar scabbard, scrench and a screw driver(no screwdriver for models that have single screw carb )
Here, with a professional saw things are a bit more generous.
A Tool Kit that contains a Scrench, screw driver and a T27 key.
A filing kit containing a round file with holder, Flat file and depth gauge.
Scabbard for the guide bar.A Rollomatic Super guidebar with replaceable bar nose
And a Rapid Super Chain.
All that is standard supply.
The dealer will add another Stihl chain, maybe a Carlton or Oregon chain also.
A couple of chain files, some Eclips and a bag to carry all that.
At times the customer also get some other Stihl gift item(at the dealers' expense) such as a key chain, goggles or a pair of gloves.
First tuneup after 20 days of use is free of cost.
Joe
Our Forestry Dept. just picked up a new MS200T for $550. They got the powerhead, 2-14" bars, 2- chains, scrench, T27 tool, plastic piston stopper, carb. screwdriver, plastic carrying pouch for tools, a plastic bar cover, & owners manual.
Wow, Joe! I think that I will buy my next saw there! I asked Stihl if there was suppose to be a screwdriver and star wrench included with new saws and they said that they no longer do that. All you get here is a scrench and owner's manual and whatever the dealer is good enough to throw in.
My 361 came with scrench, carb screwdriver, and a bent star shaped screwdriver (torx I think), scabbard , and owners manual. Plus some candy for my kids whenever I stop in for more stuff (they like the saw shop now). Dealer put the RSC chain on too.
