Good day folks,
New to the forum and have picked up a lot of info reading some of the old posts. It's obvious there is a lot of experience and knowlege in the people who take the time to post and share.
I purchased a new Husky 372 after my 362 was stolen. I need to get a couple of exta bars for it. I see Bailey's have the Carlton on sale. The question is this a good bar to put on this saw or should I spend the extara dollars and go with the Oregon which I understand is what the original equipment is. I don't want to go cheap and sacrifice a lot of quality as it will get a lot of use.

I've been very pleased with the Total "Superbars" that I get from my local Husky/J-red dealer. Probably a few bucks more than an Oregon.
The Baileys "Woodland Pro" bars (made by Cannon) are excellent, although expensive.
GB "titaniums" (the orange ones) are good also.

Info on who makes the Carlton bars for you.
Bare metal half moon style tip manufactured by Tsumura.
Bare metal single rivet tip is solid made in Germany.
Painted bars like Carlton Pro Champ bars are manufactured by GB
I'd go with the total or oregon.
i just got one of the carlton bars from baileys. i like it. was gonna get the windsor bar in 20 but the price is right,now. seems every bit the quality of the factory jonsered bar to me. the stainless almost almost loks like chrome.makes the saw almost prettyful. 8)
i use to like oregon but it seem like quality took a dive a few years back.i never kept spare tips around because they never went,unless you wrenched one in a top or some thing and you could run them until you could see the drives showing.now you got to keep a bunch of spare tips ,it seems like you change them all the time ,it goes to show "they don't make them like they use to.i switched to windsor they have two big oil prts instead of one and they last longer.woodsman pro tips are a good tip .they are more heavy duty ,if you don't believe hold a oregon tip next to a wp and compare .wp is all around a better tip bigger rivets in the nose and thicker metal.
