I've burned wood most of my life and have always strived to make it easier. One big improvement is a small platform to stand on when your cleaning the stack. It gives you a stable place for your feet ,saves roof grits, and is safer.I have one now that straddles the roof on my outside furnace handy hight to the cleanout tee.Provisions can also be made for a place on it for the ladder to rest and be stable.Frank C.
Great idea. I think I will try that. Joe
