Title: back in Folkston again

John is a logger and Rodney is a Forester with Hercules (the stump people :D) and they are wanting a sawmill in the worst way.  This is the second time I've sawed for Jon.  the first time was years ago.  This time, he not only wants the wood sawed but they are using the experience as a learning tool for setting up their own stationary mill.   All of these trees have come from building lots and yards within a half mile of their houses.

Moving slabs with a tractor that needs some weight.  
Rodney holds the front end down.

The forks on the back are from an old forklift and there is a cylinder for a top hitch to tilt it as well as a hydraulic motor to raise and lower it.   When he gets all the engineering done it will be a handy piece of equipment.

Moving some of the lumber to make room for more,
Jon and Rodney found it easier to move it by hand.  
The stacks were too heavy for the tractor without
weights even though the hydraulics would handle the job.

Today I ate in one of my favorite restaurants, The Okefenoke.  I had snap peas, pole beans, collards with pepper sauce, steamed carrots, a bowl of cucumber slices with vinegar, two buttered-and-toasted-in-the-pan hamburger rolls with sesame seeds on them, some really good chunked pot roast in a gravy that would make you slap your mama, a chicken thigh, some canned peaches and 3/4 of a pitcher of sweet ice tea.   I had to pass up the peach cobbler 'cause I was full. :)

You could have passed that peach cobbler my way.  We got a quick break today for dinner and had a ham sandwich.  It was a long stretch until supper. ::)

I would have only gotten as far as ...

I sure am sorry for you Bibby.  :'(  

Kevin, it takes years of intensive training. to perform like that. :D  You could starve to death down here if you hurt the cooks feelings. :D :D

My biggest problem when we are doing the custom sawing thing is not stopping to eat. I dont mean to be a slave driver, I think I just get so involved in sawing that I just forget about food. Not that I dont like to eat. ;D
