For those of you who climb, what's better/safer/more comfortable for doing tree work, saw pants or chaps ?

I would guess pants, but I don't wear leg protection while aloft. I tried wearing my saw pants a few times and found they were too hot and restrictive for the kind of movement needed in the tree.

When I was climbing doing removals or pruning that required a chain saw I always wore chaps. I also wore chaps all the time working out of my aerial lift.
