Title: Take care of your health
Post by: woodman58 on April 20, 2010, 07:02:07 PM

Jeff,
I'm not sure where to put this. I thought all of use working outside in the heat might need this information.

Good info....

they known how to identify the  signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with
us today. Some don't die. They end up in a  helpless, hopeless condition
instead..

that is  also an indication of a  stroke.

I'll add my 2 cents to woodman58. No 2 strokes are exactly alike. Speed is important. You need to get to a medical facility that has CAT or MRI capability as quickly as possible.
Strokes occurr when part of the brain ceases to function due to lack of blood flow. The CAT or MRI scan is used to determine if the malfunction is a clot or a ruptured blood vessel. IF a clot, there is a drug that can be used to break up clots to some extent, but administering the clotbuster to someone who has a ruptured vessel just probably would be fatal. Brain cells cut off from oxygen die with 2 to 3 hours and the effects are not reversible. Your Doc who says he can reverse any stroke within 3 hours probably sells snake oil too. Not to be trusted.
