Just saw a interesting thing called a maker bot, which is a 3d printer. This is not a new technology but this company is making an afordable unit. (under $1000)
Comes as a kit. The pro models we use in the plastics industry are $10,000 and up.
Thought some of you might find it interesting. Print your own parts with you break something.

We saw that too - any idea what material it "prints" in ???
It uses ABS. I've not seen any parts first hand, but they look a little course looking at a pic.
