Working the toll cable along the trans Canada two track.

What was that noise?
Sounded like clicking.
Are you still there?
They must be working on the lines again!
Hello, hello?

Kevin,
Sorta brings back a few memories.  As a former telephone man I can remember doing Toll Patrol on an open wire toll line that was all on railroad right of way.  Had to inspect each pole and replace pins as needed. Had to climb every fifth pole to retie all the glass every year.  It was a pleasure during mushroom season but in August it got to be a drag especially when the crossroads were a couple of miles apart.

The open wire was fun.
Hot day, good sweat on, reach over multiple lines to test the trouble and WHAP, YEOOOOW, THAT HURT!  :D
