Guess most of you prolly heard but Art Carney passed away last Sunday at his home. Those who don't know him, he was "Norton" on the Honeymooners, one of the best shows ever on TV. The Honeymooners is a classic!! And shouldnt it be!!!
RIP Art.
I hadn't heard, thanks. I liked Art in that role better than anything else he ever did. The Honeymooners was an exceptional classic. One of my favorites was when Art suggested they take the drawers out of the chest of drawers to lighten it so they could move it. Gleason told him that that (double word sentence) was the smartest thing he had ever come up with. The put the drawers on top of the dresser and moved the whole mess across the room as if it were lighter now. :D
It sure makes me wish I could have told him how much enjoyment he has brought to me. I guess that is a good reason to be more vocal than we generally are. It doesn't do anygood to say how much somebody means to you after they are gone. :-/
I hadn't heard either. He was probably my favorite comedic actor. Rest in Peace Art, you will be sorely missed.
I heard on the news that he was wounded in the leg at
Normandy on D-Day.
