Title: WM at the Forest Festival
Post by: Qweaver on October 10, 2010, 09:02:21 AM
We went to the Forest Festival in WV yesterday and Marty was there with a fully dressed Woodmizer LT40, a single blade edger and a shingle/siding making machine.  It's the first time I'd seen a fully automatic machine work.  Wow!  That machine only has 3 more HP than my LT28 but it runs a hydraulic pump and an electric debarker and still has plenty of power for the saw.

I should not go to these demos!  It makes me lust after things that I can in no way justify.
Marty puts on a good demo.  They had a crew burning Forest Festival logos into the shingles that they were making and there was always a line of people waiting to get them.

I think Wood-Mizer was everywhere yesterday.  They had an open house in Indy and opened a new branch office in Colorado and I think at a show in Doniphan, Mo. besides the Forest Festival.

Sure was a great weekend for the festival. Kinda I wished I would have made it up. Seems everyone has their festival these next few weekends. Bridge Day next weekend so don't make plans traveling North or South on Route 19 between Summersville and Fayetteville, WV. Lots of crazy fools jumping off a bridge, but the trees are beautiful this time of year. As always Marty and Lisa have something interesting to show. Hope your saw job went well in Clarksburg. Retiring in 13 days and really looking forward to it.

Now wait a minute.  I've jumped off of that bridge and I'm not crazy!  It's a really safe jump...well at least it's pretty safe for that kind of jump.  Most people live thru it.  I hope to do it again if I can get the body in shape for it  :D  We finished the Clarksburg job today.  The LT28 will sleep in it's shed tonight.  Congrats on the retirement.

Congratulations bugdust on that retirement date.  I highly recommend it, but after that, you'll never have a day off again.   :)

I've seen the bridge, driven across the bridge, been under the bridge, taken pictures of the bridge, but I ain't jumping off of it.   :o

OOPS,   :-\ Sorry Qweaver! I just couldn't think why anyone would want to jump off a perfectly good bridge. I rode a submarine for 3½ years, and I've been called crazy too. I guess it takes one to know one.  :D  :D  :D
