Thinking about trading my old 2005 serco in on a new rotobec, looking for any info good or bad! Looking at a fixed 25 ft boom with the full hight a frame. ;D
I ran a Rotobec 80 Elite for awhile on a late model Mack Granite. The loader and the truck were beat (my former boss' pipeline and storm trucks). But I will say, for the thrashing I knew that loader took, it still had plenty of power and I was impressed. It had been used mainly to pickup swamp mats, and that's what I was doing with it too. I was able to pick them up at a full reach that I know some other loaders would have trouble doing. Sercos are great loaders, I thought the 7500 was the cat's meow until I ran the 8500. Night and day but a lot heavier. It's hard to beat a 7500 for the power and the weight, especially if you have the pumps where you like them, coolers setup right, etc. Will the guys up in Hermon let you demo one?
i have never seen either one around here but i would like a serco 7500 or 8500. there is a rotobec on a big tandem gmc for sale in richmond. they want $50,000 for it. rotobecs from what i have seen in listings tend to be $$$, but they look extremely nice.
they are pricey! but they seem to be well built. i havent run one in production but i did demo one at the bangor show a couple years ago. i was stacking soda cans with it. i spoke with a guy last week who upgraded to one from a prentice 120. he didnt like the button that switches the hydraulics to run the slide boom. but that wont be a problem if you arent getting the slide boom. he also said he had a hard time going from a worn out loader with alot of play in it to a brand new loader with no slop at all. but thats gunna happen no matter what you do.
what grapple are you planning on getting.
Getting very very close to getting the rotobec elite! ;D
I hope you get it, please post pics :)
Ordered it today! Will be here in 4 weeks! 8)
pics will be required. i hope they didnt get you too far over the barrel. i assume you went to hermon? the salesman there is a great guy. did a bunch of things with him when i was in school in orono.
Should be getting it put on thursday! 8)
thats great woodhauler. i went on their website and the elite is the first a-frame i have seen able to handle a grapple saw. they are very nice loaders. with lots of options. best of luck
Ended up taking the one they had in stock with the extender boom! Got a good deal and should be trucking friday!
