Title: double prints
Post by: woodmills1 on November 23, 2003, 04:37:58 AM
this morning when I posted the thread called "Nice!" the image code got listed twice and sure enough the prints were double.  I used the preview feature to check and then backspaced out one set of image codes.  Anyone else see this?

James your computer is the problem. Putting that code in the box is nothing more then a fancy cut and paste operation.

Deadheader, I increased the box size just so you could see it. And the box on the left? You would think with your mechanical knowedge you would have figured that out.

James

James

I see everything double in the morning,  but I havn't found that 'nice' post yet.

Jeff,  Jeff,

I noticed the bigger letters and thought my youth was returning :-/   It's nice,  but was a letdown when I realized the letters were bigger :)  I also noticed the greeting at the top of the page changes to reflect the time of day 8)

Must admit that I like this one a little better ;)

I wouldn't want the 'big guy' to know,  but I think this one is kinda funny and was a surprise to me-----you might say he got aHEAD of me ::)

Well, there I go assuming.

There is something going on here. It is double printing the code.  To stop it till I figure it out, instead of clicking the insert image code for a final step. just right click in the box and choose paste.

Sorry James!

Does this have anything to do with the threads being out of order?  ???
Title: Re: double prints
Post by: Jeff on November 24, 2003, 02:22:25 PM
Nope. I had not noticed threads out of order, but deadheader noticed earlier today that the server time said almost midnithe when it was not. Somehow the server time musthave gotten off. Its happened before. When the time gets off you can actually post in the past. :o or future  :o  and then when the server is reset, things can be out of order.

Seems to be O.K. now.

I noticed that posts made this morning were dated Nov. 14. I scrolled back to posts made on Nov. 14, and they were labeled "TODAY."  :D

there also seems to be a problem with the "new" tags on the 100 last posts. They never clear

Yea, I know. THe problem came when I improved the 25 most recent posts. Actually, and you will probably be sorry to hear this, I am going to dump the last 100 threads. That small program is a horrible CPU thief.  Its written poorly and has to go. I can always tell when somebody ws running it by the server stats.

Try using the most recent 25 posts thing. Its really quick.

QuoteTry using the most recent 25 posts thing. Its really quick.

The problem with the 25 most recent posts is it doesn't list the 25 most recent posts.  :o

I have noticed that if more than one post is made to a topic only the last post is presented in the list, i.e., if five posts are made to the "double prints" topic in a short period of time you will only see the last one. Only one recent post per topic is on the list. At least thats the way it seems to work for me.

Doug

I've noticed that too, was the same way when it was the most recent 10 also.
I like to follow along by reading the most recent but sometimes I miss something I have to go back and check on.

Yall must check a lot closer than I do. Granted that I just blitz on and blitz off, but the only thing I had noticed was the brief period of slowness (and sometimes my ISP does that even now that it's DSL- that's DSL 'lite'- so it can be flaky)- and the prob with the flags staying on has come and gone for years. I just find it and clear it with 'mark all posts read'.

Anyway, Jeff, it's a great board and if we could give ya a hand with the technical stuff we would. Don't think we are not appreciative. This is your baby and a labor of love and dedication.   lw
