Title: c5d treefarmer 1610 cotta transfer case

I broke the cast on the back were the bolts are that hold it to the skidder trying to find out if the casing is cast steel or cast iron want to weld new steel nuts in place of the old cast what do you guys think

Mine is cast steel.I have cota's phone # if you need it.They emailed me a complete diagram of the transfer case too.

Better take it to a good welding shop because getting the nuts to stick to the cast will be a problem,you will need the right rods such as Comcast "problem solvers".It would be better to change the housing,but that's up to you,good luck.
