Found this old saw in a barn this weekend, looked pretty cool and I figured someone on here would know something about it. Couldn't quite figure out what you would use the attachment on the bar for though...

awesome, thanks!! ;D
I had one given to me by a local farmer a while back....funny story actually. So It turned over and other than the chain being rusted solid onto the bar could have been a runner..so it went on the project back burner....and we started doing GTG's at the farm a few years back. I used it as the "flagg" to let folks know they got to the right farm road..had it on a log pointing down the hill. Might even have a photo of this online somewhere...and it was the icon..for a few. Then after one GTG It was just gone....sometime during the day it grew legs. (Not from the GTG participants, we were a mile up the farm road on the top pastures when it went away! ) So I was..annoyed but not really too upset...
Time buy...maybe a year. And I go to the old dealership to grab some unobtainable parts for my old Jonsereds. The dealer said "I know your into old saws, you should see what a guy dropped off a few days ago...to get fixed or trade. So I was interested as usual...and there it was, that old Clinton. So I asked him who brought it in? He wasn't going to tell me...:) So to this day I still don't know who the local scavenger was who thought he saw some TRASH on the side of the road!
