Title: Continous loop background sound in windows desktop?
Post by: SwampDonkey on February 17, 2011, 03:43:45 PM
Do any of your folks know if you can set a continuous loop background sound in windows desktop settings? Or maybe you can only do it from a  3rd party utility.

Kind of a bird nut here, like the bird songs. :)

Search ambient sounds in google :) Many of them should have the option to loop.

Also, every media player worth anything will have a loop or repeat setting, if you get a file you like you can have it play over and over as many times as you want.

You can always add some blank time to the end of a file if it repeats to often.

Yeah guys I wasn't too clear in my request. What I am looking for is something that loads on bootup, like the desktop background image, but instead a sound that plays with various bird songs that I can chain together in a playlist or sound file before hand and have load automatically each time the system boots up. Eliminating the need to do it manually with mouse clicks. ;D

I can do everything manually as is. Heck, I have an old ancient computer that could do this 20 years ago. You just drop the sound file into a Startup folder and it did it's thing.  ::)  ;)

Can you do something like this with the Event Scheduler? Like run Windows Media, load file, play ???

Create your play list in Media player, then add that play list to the Start Up folder and every time the computer boots, the list will play. The only manual part you will have to do is to set Media player to continuous loop or random each time the computer is booted.

The Event Scheduler did the trick with a play list I created for WMP. I tell it to run on Startup and after login. Now trying to find a way to run minimized in the taskbar. It retains all the custom settings I make so I don't have to touch it for looping and such.
