WebMD says:

All of the following are healthy foods for your gallbladder, as well as the rest of your body:

Fresh fruits and vegetables
Whole grains (whole-wheat bread, brown rice, oats, bran cereal)
Lean meat, poultry, and fish
Low-fat dairy products

They also state that caffinated drinks like coffee may be good for your gall bladder.

Try to avoid or limit these high-fat foods in your diet:

Fried foods
Highly processed foods (doughnuts, pie, cookies)
Whole-milk dairy products (cheese, ice cream, butter)
Fatty red meat

The old medical adage was that people with gall bladder attacks are the 4 F's:
Fat, Fair, Female, and Forty.

That leaves you and Jeff as medical anomalies!

I had mine out about 5 years ago now.   ya got rid of some of the pain, also many nuts will cause issues (Nuts are high in fat even though it is good fat)   Just about anything greasy makes em act up.   mine was full of stones and took 3 times longer to get out then they figured due to my innards being tough as leather & full of sinew...

I had to watch spicy stuff as well,   I think I was 38 or 39 when it had to go...
My sister had her's out as well about 10 years back for same issues (full of stones.)

I can eat stuff better now but also have more got to go when ya go to go issues and cant wait some times very long due to the no longer control of the bile

The 4F's eh? Geesh, Doc, you know how to hurt a gal when she's down!  :D

Granted, I have 3 of the F's, I'll never admit to the 4th.

Sorry, Patty!  Your posts give the impression that Norm married well below his age!

As for WebMD, it's not a bad site for general info.  Easier to cut and paste than type!

Autocar-

Have you been worked up for an inflamed gall bladder?  Do you have stones?  If it bothers you daily, and can get pretty bad for a period of days, would you consider having it removed, once the diagnosis is confirmed?  You can talk to Jeff, and all others on the FF who have had theirs removed, and find out how exciting that is!  On the other hand, if it affects your life every day, I'd have it looked at.

You got it Tex. In the previous thread when I admitted to 3 of the F's, I meant that it was the FAT f that I would never admit to.  ;)    Poor doc misunderstood, and thought I was referring to the Forty f.

Doc I was the one who robbed the cradle, Norm was so young & innocent; he didn't stand a chance!!

Sence Ive made this post I have been careful on what Ive been putting in my mouth, and sence yesturday it hasn't bothered me at all. It is hard to eat right , for me because I like all foods  :D I weigh about 167 and 43 years ago that was my weight. Been very lucky that Ive never had a weight problem. I will just have to work at it harder to stay healthy.

Had an attack last summer, came out of nowhere too.  After 2 nights of no sleep and being 300 miles from home, figured out what it was.
Drink a couple of Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar mixed in a glass of cold water with your meal, especially if it contains lots of fat.  Clears the "sludge" , those were the Dr's words, that harbor the stones or formation of stones.  Tastes like a very dry, weak wine, quite refreshing actually. Have not had any pains since August. Couple times a week is good.  I have a friend who drinks the stuff for arthritic back.   Beats surgery for now.  As for the  4 F's, only qualify for 2 myself.
