Title: Drop kick
Post by: SasquatchMan on December 23, 2003, 06:46:25 PM
Is there any reason (for the saw) to start a warm saw in the warm start position rather than just in the run position (does the little burst of fuel help the saw somehow?)  My Stihl seems to start on one pull either way...

All it does is add a little choke in the warm position.
Instead of having a choke that is open or closed they give you a third setting which is in between for easier starting when the engine is warm or is cold but has been running earlier.
It sounds like your saw is operating fine without it.

A warm Husky doesn't need anything but a pull with the switch on ;) ;D :) :) 8)

Yeah, I didn't figger it made any difference (other than choke and throttle) - at least I know how my saw OUGHT to run, so if it ever gets finicky I'll know something's outta whack.  So far tales of saws that won't start cold, or won't start hot, or cut out or whatever are just tales for me!
