Title: Dolmar 7900 Mounts
Post by: Corley5 on July 23, 2011, 09:26:30 AM
We're running a pair of 7900s.  Great running and cutting saws but the mounts are a weak point.  They're easy enough to replace but at ten bucks each and the down time involved to make the repair I'm going back to Jonsereds.  Anybody have this issue with Dolmars ???  I had a third one, a 7300, which had a very short life ended by large sugar maple  :(  We were able to salvage the mounts  ::)

I too have a 7900 and have noticed the same thing. So it sticks around as a backup and I let me Stihls do most of the work.

We first demoed these saws over a year ago and were impressed.  I'm still impressed with their power but this mount issue is real problem with them.  My dealer still has them but isn't pushing them anymore because of the mounts and Dolmar claims it isn't a problem  :-\  Oh well  ;D
