VOLUNTEER URBAN TREE PLANTING EXPERTISE SOUGHT
Note: Lee Mueller is a member of the MSAF working for The Greening of Detroit program. He's looking for assistance.
The Greening of Detroit is seeking to play 4,500 trees within city limits this Fall, our most ambitious season to date. Projects will include stormwater mitigation, street tree plantings, and contaminated site improvement. The vast majority of our trees are planted with volunteer labor. To these ends, we have created our groundbreaking Citizen Forester Program. These trained volunteers help lead planting events and are the first line of leadership at large-scale plantings. Individuals with backgrounds in forestry, landscaping, or interested in beautifying the city environment are ideal candidates.
