It`s a good, solid saw that really likes to rev.

I bought it, I like it, thanks for the responces, Cheers FMK
That's a good moderate size saw, should last for years if properly maintained.
Just curious if it's a small mount saw?
I've got a 262xp (about 10 or 12 years old) takes a small mount bar.Seems like the 262 was the largest saw to use the small mount.I'm not sure if this is the correct term for it.
But,I also own a 395xp which is a different mount (large mount)
I twould have been nice to have them both the same.I use some specialized 21 inch bars for log building.
Both 254 and 262 use the same bar mount.
Does anybody have the original specs on this saw-cubes? hp?I have one but I got it used and am in the dark.Otherwise great medium size saw.

Here is an opinion - or rather a test report:

According to this, the power output was slightly higher than husky stated... ;D
The 254xp is an excellent saw. You won't be dissapointed.
I run a 16" bar on mine, the saw just plays with it.

Here is a great website that someone sent to me and it has been invaluable.
