Title: old school schooner
Post by: Splinter on September 07, 2011, 08:19:59 AM
This is the coolest thing. Harold gets logs dropped in his yard and turns them into a schooner. it launched this summer, had first charter last week.
I saw his log pile, mostly tree service wood and said where are the long logs, he said most of the construction is short wood, built up to accomodate her curves.

Wow .There are very few shipwrights left in the world that could duplicate that . Wooden ship  building such as that is almost a lost art .Very impressive to say the least .

There are some good wrights out there...it is largely time and money that prevents wooden shipbuilding....
