Title: Portable sawmill needed
Post by: cut2size on January 17, 2004, 01:16:06 PM
A gentleman from Fairfax, VA called me today looking to have some red oak logs quartersawn.  It would be a long trip for me as I live 175 miles away.  He only has a couple of logs and they are between 20 and 26 inch diameter.  If anyone lives close to fairfax and is willing to help him out, I would be happy to point you in his direction.
Thanks,
David

This post reminds me to mention something again. If you have a sawmill, PLEASE list is using the link to the left. THe one that says find a sawyer-logger-forester.

There are many reasons to list. I can't think of any not to. The one I do hear is "I got enough business, I don't need any more".  Well, BULL PUCKY!. I doubt if you get much work from that listing, but you may very well be able to help out one of our visitors or another member of this forum. Aint that what we are all about?  How many times have we had someone on here that would like to see a mill run, or talk to someone about a mill? Plenty!   There are only 100 listings in the datbase right now. Some of them are non-registered members. You don't have to be to use it. I know we have, at least, 5 times that many sawmill owners that visit this forum that could and should be on there.

So, here is your reminder. If you did not know about it, I am here to tell you about it, if you forgot about it I am here to remind you about it, if you are ignoring it, I am here to give you an ear full. ;D

Its fun-its easy-its educational-its, its, its, EASY :)

Jeff,  This man found me in the find a sawyer section.  I looked and I am the only sawyer listed in VA.  There has to be someone closer to Fairfax that could help him out.

I'm in Williamsburg ,VA.  Figure about 2.5 hours from Fairfax. Maybe I can double his job up with another in that direction.
Cut2size please send me a PM with info, or if you want, I can send you my info so he can call me.
