Hey guys,
I recently picked up a new MS 310 from Marty at WoodMizer PA with a 16" bar. Now I would like to purchase a 20 bar so I have one if needed. Could one of you chainsaw gods out there give me a recommendation as to which bar I should order from Baileys.
Hey Marty - this saw cuts GREAT. 8) 8) 8) 8)
Hey ZOPI - it has the flippy caps and I have had no problems with them. ;D :D ;D :D ;D :D

Does Marty not offer a 20" bar that fits? Baileys has one, AM 20 SS63 which requires .325x .063 chain. That chain is seldom seen here.
Always wondered why Stihl reccomends 16 to 20" bars for the 310, when mine came from the factory with a 24" bar [Stihl calls it 25"]? Great saw though!
By-the-way, my 028 came with a 20" bar with .325 x .063 chain.
The saw did not come from the factory with a 24", the dealer would have installed the longer bar. Stihl does not make a 24" to be used with .325.
The 310 uses 3/8 x .050, the 028 uses .325 x .063. Sorry for the confusion :-[
OK. ;D They were being sold in Canada with 23RS chain.
FWIW the 028 can go either way,3/8 or .325 . I think the one I have in the shed might be .325 . Not a bad saw I just have better so it doesn't get used much .

Yes, Marty does have them. I just wanted to get the shorter bar with it. I knew that I would/could order the longer bar from Baileys for less cost.
Thanks for the info about Baileys bars. I like the fact that the part number you give me was for both the bar and chain - a combo. After looking at the Baileys online catalog, I think/plan on ordering the one you recommended and other one for my 017 - DGC 16 MS50. Another combo.
Thanks again for the info.

The 028 super I had was 3/8 050. 8)
