We rarely get snow days.  Our busses all have radios and the roads are mostly good.  The superintendent feels that kids are safer going to school than staying home, especially if both parents work and he is most likely right.  If we do have a snow day, the teachers all have to show up anyway.  Only been a few days that they told the teachers to stay home, mostly because of ice covered roads.  Last time it was because of a late season dump of a foot of wet, sticky snow that the busses wouldn't go through.  We found out that the teachers didn't have to go when I dropped my wife off at the school on my way to work.  She stayed there and worked in her classroom while I put in my day of sawing and then went home.  :o :( ::)

Yep, Rav, a teachers two favorite words, unless you have to make the days up sometime in May or June when the weather changes to the better.  I hope you have an extra fine, sleep in. 8)

I remember those when I was a kid living in MN. For some reason we used to get more snow back in the 60's and can remember getting as much as 36". We couldn't walk the 1/2 mile road to the school bus even if it did run, but we didn't have any trouble making the long trip back to the sliding hill. :)

Today we will be having what you might call a "frost warning". Right now it is -22F and they are predicting -60F wind chill. I hate the wind when it's cold cause goes right through me, and I pretty thick :o
