Can you exspand more on what you did to fix the leaky clutch seal by putting in a pipe which part did you tap? ;D
Jocco, I tapped the main shaft and drilled the cover with the 4 allen bolts to 5/8 so a 1/4npt 4"black iron pipe could slide thru, and also a 5/8 hole thru the outside cover centered with the main shaft.I did the main shaft cause it was already drill close enough to run the tap in.If you tapped the allen bolt cover you will have to seal it where the shims go to keep it from leaking there.
I haven't protected the live swivel outside of the cover yet,but its been a few yrs since I did the up grade and haven't broken it yet.
Ed i get what you did mine is modle 9 not 19, 119 The live swivle would be well protected on mine. That part always leaked years ago and swelled the bands. thanks
Read my reply to Treefarmer 87, Roto seals are the same for mdl. 8-9 19.
The only piece i taped is what you call the roto gland, the piece with 4 bolts, its Brass.
Mine never leaked in on the bands.
I used the same cover, i cut the hole bigger, then took a old drive shaft, cut about a 4" piece of it then split that into. Took half of that and welded it on the cover, made a hole for the line, closed up both ends, then painted it, looked like it came that way
My Treefarmer had a Can-car Model 20 wench, this had the live swivel on it.
Has anyone completed the the switch to a live swivel on a 9?
Oh the joy of owning a Timberjack, large adjustable and a hammer is all I need!! :D :D
