I have a chance to buy a General Wood Machine Planer. Any information good or bad would be appreciated. The model is a 16x8.
There is General (made in Quebec) and there is General International, made in ... not Quebec.
General is top of the line in woodworking machinery, General International not so much.

As DouginUtah said, there are two models they sell imported and made in Canada one,s. If you can get a look at it before you purchase. look it over and run it! that will tell you weather its right for you or not! It is very hard to find a newer woodworking machine that is not made and assembled oversee,s some are pure junk and other are OK for the most part. like everything that I buy I want to touch it first and see it operate, and then I make my mind up afterwards.
