howdy all
hey thanks for the tip on the red tool box. i got the number i needed
got to pull the head off today on an onano p220 motor and the valve seat was loose as usual . but it hammered the seat stop in the block down and bad . so weld and machine time , which i do both.
even still free motor ,may have a couple hundred buy the time it runs, not bad .
Best of luck on that engine Steve. Sounds like you got the talent to fix it. smiley_thumbsup
Me? I would have had to hire a mechanic.
Good Luck on your project!
Steve, have you tried to find oversize seats. The block is ether al. or cast iron nether take real kindly to welding also theirs the danger of warping and loosening the outher seat.If I couldn't find an oversized seat I'd machine out the block and press in a sleeve. Frank C.
heat the metal to a minimum of 500 degrees before you start welding, then wrap in an old wool blanket, to try to avoid stress cracks.
