Got a Florida log that has some nice spalt. Need to know what it is. Here's the pics.

Hackberry perhaps? Is the wood kinda creramy colored? LeeB
Thanks LeeB. I was thinking Hackberry. Wood is off white and has been down for a long while. Looks Grey now, kinda??? ;D
turns grey with blue stain. pretty prone to it. hackberry is a member of the elm family. not very stable. likes to move while drying. LeeB

hackberry?? in fl wow i feel like i a newbie where have i been all this time not sure what it really is fl but cut plenty of them usually in sandy scrub growin hand in hand with a turkey or blackjack oak prime firewood here but seldom find a long straight enough log to saw
