Happened to look up under the second story eave the other day and spotted a wasp nest almost the size of a dinner plate. The porch roof is metal so didn't want to get in a position I would need to run (that ain't near as fast as it use to be) so I got a window open and the screen off. From inside the window and holding the screen as a shield I drown the things. This is looking down on the result on the porch roof.

Guinea wasps seem up this year. Red wasps have not shown up around here, but guinea's and yellow jackets prevail.
That nest was covered with young wasp that had just emerged from their nest. Yes, they will sting you but most of the time if you disturb them they will all just fly off. You did good. ;D
