Title: New Guitar
Post by: b dukes on August 20, 2012, 09:04:34 PM
I have been wanting a electric guitar for some time now. So I finally decided to order me one from Fender. Its an  American Telecaster.  I love it!  Now all I need is a better amp.

Brady,

Now we will have to play some music!  I am a bass player, but I have an Ovation guitar and a Martin D-28 guitar to mess around on when I am not messing around on the bass  ;D.

The telecasters are iconic.  Reminds me of Merle Haggard.

What type of music is yore flavor?

We could all get together with our guitars and start a band....."THE BRADY BUNCH"...... :D

And play at WOODSTACK 2012.

Like Andy Griffith said when he was handed a 6 string with one string broken...... "I'll just get to strumming and hold on".  :D

Danny,
I like county and southern rock. I played a lot of gospel with my father in law before he passed. He played mostly bluegrass and gospel , he was in a band for years. He could play anything. He gave he his 68 Stat when he couldn't play anymore because of his health. I love playing it but my wife gets upset when I get it out.  He passed about a year ago. I bought a Fender bass and tried to teach her what I knew , which isn't much.

Looks like an old Fender Precision Bass.   I have a 1974 Fender Jazz Bass.  Country, Southern Rock, Bluegrass (I used to play in a bluegrass band) are my favorite, although I cut my teeth on Mississippi Delta Blues.

Yep that's what it is. I have never played any blues , but I love to listen to it.

Y'all don't let Woodbowl get wind of this!  He's liable to show up at Woodstack with his banjo or his fiddle, or both! :o

What a beautiful Tele! I have the same one in flat black. My only gripe with them is the bridge is hard to set up but once done you will not find a better playing guitar.

Here's one of my heroes playing one.

Nice looking Tele there b, and a great find on the Yamaha.

I've got a few guitars the better one is a Godin lg, it is Canadian made. I have been trying to learn bass lately but I seem to be slow on the uptake. I like to play around on it an try to figure it out on my own with out following any rigid lessons, not sure why.

I've got a couple of Ovations left. I gave away LOTS of guitars when I hurt my hand and quit playin in a band years ago..... LOTS.  I've been saving my spare change for a D-28 Martin... but it taking forever, it seems!!
