Helping clean a friends place and he threw in some older bars to see if they were worth anything. they look to be new or reground, 28.5" without a nose, some marked Canadian and some marked Skilsaw. They all look alike except for the oil holes are smaller on some than others. The same number is on all of them, 177430. They also have a double set of bolt holes as if they were designed for more than one saw. Any ideas of value or if they could be used to make knives with? Thanks in advance for any input.
Those are old bars if they are for the PM Canadian or Skil who bought the brand, they are of little value. I suppose they could be turned into knives.
Thanks, appreciate the reply.
Some bars just have the rails hardened, and some are hardened throughout the body. I don't know if that affects how you might use them for knives (maybe not a big deal if you are going to harden them after shaping?).
