Was wondering if the gallery, or more to the point.. upload facility, was down. Getting a "sever (IO) error" when trying to upload. Picture parameters are within limits. <= 500 wide; <60 kb.
Thanks
I got the message, but I just uploaded and posted a picture OK.

Just uploaded from my blind by phone. Two fawns are here
I still can't upload here. Never did anything with my settings or anything different on the computer. I'll reboot.
Still can't.
What upload form are you trying to use?
Have you tried to trouble shoot by trying a different browser? I just used the singl file uploader via my phone whilein the woods, and just now used the multifile flash uploader using firefox without any errors.

The Java uploader had been discontinued, so that isn't even a possibility,
Has your browsewr or flash plugin had any updates?
I am having issues also with trying to up load pictures and also with posting.
It says I have timed out or something to that effect. ( I aint slow) It could be a server issue with AT&T or my setting with cookies as I have received that popup also on some trying.
The issues may have to do on my end though as I am currently posting on my IPad. We upgraded to windows 8 a couple weeks ago and also recently monetized my YouTube account which changed a few settings. I monetized my YouTube account because they kept hounding me about doing so because of over 200 thousand views. I only hang out on this forum and that is it so thank you. :D. Some of the real drivers are the corgi videos. One that is really irritating to watch because of a friends commentary. ;)
We went from windows xp for 9 years to windows 7 for 5 weeks until that computer crashed and they replaced it with a better computer loaded with windows 8.
I was able to load pictures with it up until a couple days ago.
This is another recent problem topic, with the common denominator being staying logged in and using att

I tried posting my issues in that thread from my pc and got timed out. :D
I just did a picture on the weather thread swampdonkey. Worked fine with my super fast dial up.
I'm also wondering if Norton is messing this whole deal up.
They had preloaded the virus people in this thing before I bought it and they want me to sign up. I hate their power over me.
Their pop up warnings are getting more desperate for money. :D
My best day was when I got rid of Norton.
Yup, I'm leaning towards booting norton out.
I have been using Microsoft Essentials for several years. So far, so good.
Mooseherder, are you fairly computer savvy? If so, run a trace route to the FF and post the results, cutting off the first 4 or 5 hops and cutting off your IP address? I'm curious to see what your times are to each hop, all the way to the FF server.
You say it times out intermittently when trying to post a message. Any issues with just browsing the forums? Next time it looks like posting a message is going to timeout, try pinging www.forestryforum.com and let me know what happens.
I haven't noticed a single problem but will keep an eye out.
It's working this morning Jeff and I haven't messed with anything, nor had any updates in days. Weird. :-\
I can usually get by as long as there are some good instructions.
I'm sure the issue is with a setting or program that is blocking cookies.
I'll try pinging tonight after work. What's a trace route? :D
Browsing the forum boards no problem, just not able to post or upload pictures.
I was just able to upload a picture of my resaw. :)
There was an adobe update needed first and I also set cookies acceptance to medium.

Well I didn't do any changes either.
Mind of their own. :D :D
I would say the problem is with your system somewhere, as no one else experienced it and others, including me were able to upload photos with different platforms with no trouble.
Then we have the member, who in private messages was insinuating that a new member had issues with his post on a topic and was the reason his computer was suddenly having problems. He also posted that his problem is fixed and he didn't do anything. As much as everyone wants to think the forum is the source of their issues, I'd like to think that I am the miracle worker that is fixing the problems without doing a thing as well
Weird things do happen. I think MM had the IO error to back in post #2, but he could upload a picture. I don't know if he meant later or right then.
When I was having this latest issue I didn't try IE because I wasn't online last evening until early morning hours, after you had made the suggestion. So I couldn't say one way or the other about the browser used.
As I say it's just weird, when stuff happens and you don't change anything. All updates to software I manually approve and not automatic.
I still have the ongoing issue with logging in and I've tried everything. But I can get on, so no need to worry further about it.
Could be something to do with Bell because if you recall I couldn't get notifications most of the time.
A person just doesn't know what's going on in the background. ;D
Got on Google,
I see on coppermine-gallery.net there was also the same error in one forum post, but don't know if it was resolved (back in 2011). No details.
Seems there is now a new release of coppermine because of a security issue.
No issues since the cookie acceptance change to medium this morning.
Youtube had asked me to change to the setting below highest.
I ran the Trace Route Warbird and took out lines 1 thru 4 and line 15. What does it tell you?

Donk, when I read your post I immediately uploaded and posted a picture. I got the error message, but the picture made it. A few minutes later, I uploaded another picture and did not get the error message. I was also able to post that picture.

It tells me you are currently having excellent response times all the way to the FF server. Next time you have an issue, try to ping www.forestryforum.com and do another trace route. If you see a string of asterisks next to a router name in a trace route, it doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem.
Yeah, the response on this trace took a nano second.
