Well the other day i took my brothers 225 timberjack skidder and dragged some pine trees to my sawmills. The Timberjack is one my father bought new in 1982, it has pulled a lot of wood. I had a bunch of small pine in the sugar orchard i wanted out, some is pretty ugly. I dragged the 2 bigger trees to my portable belsaw because it has the bigger saw, the smaller tops i will saw into shingles. Theres enough to keep me busy for a while after sugaring season. ;D Don

That 225 is a real workhorse, I have one and it is one great machine.
It actually would pull just as much as the old 230 i had. you just couldn't load it as heavy because of the smaller rubber, it also got high centered a bit easier ! :D Don
Don
Ole buddy I would make fire wood out of the first 10 ft of them hooked butt critters :D :D Just a bit of timber bind there. I have an old 404 TJ but far as I know 518 Cat with air brakes will always stay put and is a dandy machine judgeing from the 3 I have run TJs were never known fer haveing brakes
There is a few ugly ones thats for sure !!!! I may have to screw them on to the carriage, and they will make ugly slabs ! The brakes on this timberjack work great ,their "INSIDE" the transfercase, the old ones with the drum on the outside weren't the greatest. The cat 518 brakes work great if you keep the crud away from the disc,if you dont you will need a fire extinguisher !!! ;D Don
We had a few crooked ones too. :D My Father would say,That is so crooked, won't even make straight smoke. I miss all that.
I'll make a bunch of 8' boards out of the crooked crap !!! ;D
The rest of the small crooked stuff will go here!! onto the shingle mill. Don
