Went to change sprocket rim on my friends 028 Wood Boss today, removed snap ring, removed rim, drive spline looked worn so i proceeded to remove snap ring, remove metal disc in back of snap ring, took pliers and tugged on it ,nothing happened, has a fiber drive gear of some sort in back of disc,i tried to pried on fiber gear very easily figuring their might be another snap ring in back of gear that holds hub in nothing.Any help would be appreciated
Is it catching in the same groove the snap ring slides around?
That gear runs the oil pump ,it should screw out .Grab a hold of it and pry up gently and screw it one way or the other .
AL,in other words, hold engine from turning over and screw gear out,and rim drive will come out. Thanks will try tomorrow.
You don't have to hold the engine ,it just screws out .I don't remember which direction but it's one way or the other .It's the worm gear that turns the oil pump.
Lift up on the gear and turn clockwise. It should start to unscrew from the oiler.
